The Wayne County District Courts are found throughout Wayne County, Michigan, and handles all misdemeanor crimes committed within Wayne County and its respective towns, municipalities and cities. The Wayne County District Courts will also handle individual felony matters, but only the setting and taking of bond and overseeing of the preliminary exam. Again, the individual Wayne County District Court can only oversee and handle a matter (regardless of it being a felony or misdemeanor) that occurred within its repsective jurisdiction.
